Senior Director-Research and Software Development


Job Description:

Act as scientific and technical leader overseeing engineering development team and product integration of cutting edge high throughput system utilizing computer vision and machine learning algorithms for object identification; develop computer vision and machine learning algorithms; work with electro-mechanical and control systems and firmware; manage large datasets; use automation tools (Python, C++, C# and, Matlab); perform advanced algorithm design to enhance accuracy and throughput speed; lead software, firmware development, and product and customer integration; manage large datasets and oversee all stages of product life cycle; use Python, C++, C#, and Matlab for software development; identify and drive innovation in products, services, solutions, technologies, and processes; develop product road maps and assess product plans to ensure product architecture conformance; interact with customers to transform customer needs and feedback into product requirements and software specifications; drive quality and process standardization across all phases of research and software development; contribute directly towards software development and research activities; assess and critique all aspects of concepts to design, performance, and manufacturability; oversee and manage backend IT infrastructure; plan and develop systems for managing IT infrastructure, data management, computation infrastructure, and automation tools; manage, monitor, and maintain compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA); develop and monitor research plans for R&D projects from concept to product; obtain internal consensus and incorporate feedback from within the organization and external for continuous improvements of products; deliver product releases according to milestones as required for customer evaluation and commercial product deployment, and manage a team of software developers and engineers.

Job Requirements:  

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering plus 1 year industry experience. Experience to include developing computer vision and machine learning algorithms, electro-mechanical and control systems and firmware, and management of large datasets and using automation tools (Python, C++, C#, and Matlab).
